Defense Mastery (Redirect Physical) (Adventurer Ability (levels 6+) Return to top

 

Modification-Point Cost (M.P.C.): None. You will automatically have this ability if you started this class at the creation of your character.  If you started this class after leveling, the MPC is: 40

 

You will redirect an incoming attack any way you wish. This will redirect the attacker 2 spaces (10') in the direction you choose.  If you wish to redirect an attack at a target, you must roll to strike that target as normal, and must not have taken an offensive turn previously.

 

Ability-Points to invoke: 20 (per physical attack you attempt to redirect).

 

To do this, you must successfully do the following in order:

1. Center.

2. Off-Line Defense.

 

Maximum adjustment: N/A

 

Note:

Defense Mastery is not considered if you are surprised.

*Prepared:        Vs. "Mental-Attack".

**Unprepared: Mental-Strength Check

                          (Mental-Strength = % chance).

**Unprepared:

You are unaware you are going to be stepping on hot coals.

Damage:

None.

Duration:

As long as you can concentrate undisturbed.

If you are disturbed, you must make an Unprepared avoidance-roll to continue. If you fail, you will begin taking damage.

Answer:

Not until you remove yourself from the hot coals.  Once you lose control, you will be burned.

Modification-Point Cost (M.P.C.): None. You will automatically have this ability if you started this class at the creation of your character.  If you started this class after leveling, the MPC is: 16

 

You will redirect an incoming thrown attack any way you wish, yet only up to a 90 degree directional change. This will redirect the thrown weapon 4 spaces (20') in the direction you choose.

 

Ability-Points to invoke: 8 (per physical attack you attempt to redirect).

 

To do this, you must successfully do the following in order:

1. Center.

2. Off-Line Defense.

3. Parry successfully with your hands.

 

Note:

If you only parry with one hand, you cannot redirect the thrown weapon (but you can parry it).

 

Maximum adjustment: N/A

 

Note:
